Dielectric insulation and effective sealing
The flange insulation kit, combined with the safety flange cover MSC Drain Flex - V2, guarantees optimal dielectric insulation, cathodic protection and an effective sealing of the flanged joint, contributing to the safety of the system and environmental protection by preventing the formation of galvanic currents.
Flange guards such as MSC Drain Flex - V2 represent the ideal solution when flanges are made of dissimilar materials (e.g., stainless steel and carbon steel). Due to their electrical insulation properties, these flange guards not only prevent accidental leaks, but also act as a dielectric barrier, minimizing the risk of galvanic corrosion on the less noble flange, typically carbon steel.
However, traditional gaskets used in flanged joints, such as spiral wound or reinforced graphite gaskets, do not offer sufficient dielectric insulation. Therefore, integration with the MSC Drain Flex - V2 flange cover becomes an essential solution for full system protection.

Applications
Reactors, tanks, and cryogenic lines (LNG, hydrogen): systems handling liquefied gases or hydrogen, where each component must ensure absolute reliability.
Gas pumping stations and pipelines: for electrically isolating pipeline sections and protecting flanged joints from accidental discharges, with the dual benefit of safety and leakage containment.
Chemical processing plants: process lines transporting aggressive fluids, to prevent leaks and protect metals from stray currents and galvanic corrosion.

| Insulating gasket (1 pc): | Composite gasket in AISI 321 stainless steel (Duplex or Alloy steels available upon request) coated on both sides with a layer of virgin Fluorton PTFE. The actual sealing is provided by a camprofile profile coated in virgin Fluorton PTFE. This gasket’s special feature, thanks to its excellent mechanical resistance and unique design, also allows installation on ring joint flanges (R, BX, or RX) without the need for subsequent modifications or adjustments to the kit structure. |
