Flange insulation kit for extreme conditions (high pressure/cryogenics)
The Flange Insulation Kit (gasket insulation) FIK 5 ensures sealing and electrical insulation in extreme operating conditions, such as high pressure (up to 500 bar) and cryogenic temperatures (-210 °C). Its configuration is particularly suitable for hydrogen and LNG systems, both in liquid and gaseous state.
Thanks to the composite gasket in AISI 321 stainless steel with virgin PTFE coating (Fluorton) and camprofile sealing element also coated, the kit ensures optimal sealing even on ring joint type flanges (R, BX, or RX) without requiring system modifications.

- Designed for “hydrogen” and “LNG” environments: ideal for cryogenic plants handling hydrogen and liquefied natural gas, in both liquid and gaseous states. Engineered to provide sealing and electrical insulation even under extreme conditions, minimizing the risk of leaks and dispersion.
- High mechanical strength + total chemical compatibility: the virgin PTFE coating ensures resistance to all corrosive fluids (pH 0–14) and minimal water absorption (0.085%).
- Compliant with VDI 2440 standard: certified for H₂ (hydrogen) gas applications according to VDI 2440, ensuring maximum reliability in critical operating conditions.

Applications
The FIK 5 flange insulation kit is designed for use in “hydrogen” and “LNG” environments, both in liquid and gaseous states.
The kit includes:
| Insulating gasket (1 pc): | Composite gasket in AISI 321 stainless steel (Duplex or Alloy grades available upon request) coated on both faces with a layer of virgin Fluorton PTFE. The sealing element is made from a camprofile core coated with virgin Fluorton PTFE. This gasket’s special feature—thanks to its excellent mechanical resistance and specific design—allows installation on ring joint type flanges (R, BX, or RX) without the need for further modifications or adjustments to the kit structure. |
